Postponement to September 2021

Asset 18.png

After careful consideration, we have decided to move Kala from June to September so we can all enjoy a magical week in the Riviera with safety and peace of mind.

Kala will now take place from 1st to 8th of September 2021.

This decision has been taken after reviewing the vaccine rollout plan and the various steps of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, according to which, events and travel are set to return during the summer months, and all adults will be offered a first dose of the vaccine by 31st July. This means that by September, we have a very good chance to be able to enjoy a week sunbathing and dancing under the stars in Dhërmi.

We hope you understand why we are making this decision and that you can join us in September. We are determined to make this the best Kala to date, and it’s safe to say our long-awaited return will be a truly memorable experience!

Option 1: Moving your booking to September

What are the new dates for Kala 2021?

Kala will take place between the 1st and 8th of September 2021.

Will I have the same accommodation?

Yes, you will have the exact same package as you had booked for June.

Will the line-up remain the same?

We have managed to secure the majority of the artists to be moved to the September dates. We are working on the final few to make sure that the new dates work with their other commitments but we are confident we will be able to deliver another year of outstanding music by the beach. We will be announcing the September line up next week.

Will my extras remain valid for the September date?

Yes, all extras on your current booking such as Gjipe Tickets, Grama Bay Excursion, Porto Palermo Excursion & Shuttle Bus passes will remain on your booking.

What will happen with my transfers?

If you have booked transfers, these will be automatically removed from your booking along with the associated costs. Once we release the new transfer options for September, you will be able to book them via the 'manage booking' page.

When is my balance due?

If your group decides to move your booking to September 2021, your balance will be due on 11th June 2021. If you have already paid your balance, this means the cancellation deadline is also extended.

Is it possible to change my accommodation?

Any accommodation that becomes available due to cancelled bookings will be released at the end of April. If you would like to change your accommodation and even add, remove or swap people in your booking you will be able to do this then. Note this is always subject to availability and that we cannot guarantee that suitable options will be in stock.

Existing customers will be able to access the cancellation stock on April 27th, and will be given 24hrs to browse options and decide whether they want to change or keep their current accommodation. The remaining stock will be released on April 29th to the ticket waiting list.

If you are interested in this option, please email us on hello@kala.al before the end of April.

I want to attend in September 2021 but my friends want to cancel, what are my options?

In order to keep the process simple, we ask that all the passengers in the booking select the same option collectively.

If the majority would like to cancel the booking, those who still want to attend in September will be offered priority to book tickets on March 25th, when we release the final tier of tickets available for September. Please add the emails of those interested in booking tickets for September while completing the postponement form so we can send them the priority link on the 25th. Note that you will be required to pay a new deposit for the new booking. Your old deposit will be refunded by the end of April, when the previous booking gets cancelled.

If the majority would like to keep the booking, we can offer free name changes between April and June so you can swap any passengers that are not able to attend once you find a replacement. If you are unable to find a replacement, or would like to add more people to the booking, you will be able to change accommodation to one that fits your new group size (subject to availability), when the stock from cancelled bookings becomes available on April 27th.

What’s the weather like in September?

The weather in September is very similar to June, with temperatures averaging 27 degrees so, even if a little later than usual, Kala will still be our highly awaited summer holiday.

Will the perks be rolled over to September?

The perks that were offered for moving 2020 bookings to 2021 can no longer be offered in September due to the changes that have taken place across the year, but rest assured you will have an amazing time in Dhërmi regardless!

What happens if the September event cannot go ahead?

Our booking policy stays the same, meaning if the September event can’t go ahead we will offer you the same choices - either move your booking to the rescheduled date or receive a refund.

We understand there is still potential for circumstances to change further down the line that may prevent us from running the event this year. We will continue to monitor the developments and make assessments as best we possibly can, always following the guidance of all the relevant authorities.

We have chosen September as it is when we currently feel confident about running a safe trip. This decision has been taken after reviewing the vaccine rollout plan and the various steps of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, according to which, events and travel are set to return during the summer months, and all adults will be offered a first dose of the vaccine by 31 July.

The safety of our guests, crew, artists and the residents of Dhërmi is our number one priority. We will do our best to deliver a truly magical week in the Riviera but Kala won’t go ahead unless it’s safe to do so.

Will extra safety measures be put in place at the event?

We are exploring different options following the guidance of the health authorities. We will put any necessary safety measures in place to minimise the risks, as well as distribute additional guidance corresponding to the situation at the time of the event.

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend?

The requirement of a vaccination in order to travel will not be dictated by the event. We are at the discretion of the various Governing bodies involved, and what their requirements are. As an event, we won't be able to dictate the requirements for travel into Albania or Greece.

As stated in our T&Cs, we can only provide general information on the subject and would recommend you continue to monitor the ongoing updates provided before making a booking. If a vaccination passport is a legal requirement to enter the country, we will not be able to provide a refund for customers who choose not to travel due to this requirement being in place. If you wish to cancel your booking at any point, this would be according to the standard cancellation terms.

Option 1: Move your booking to September 2021

FAQ

Option 3: Cancelling your booking to receive a refund

I cannot attend in September or move my booking to 2022. Will I get a refund?

If you are unable to make the new dates in September or next year’s festival in June, then you can cancel your booking and receive a refund.

Will you refund the package in full?

Yes, we will refund you the entirety of your booking minus the booking fee.

The booking fee of £10 per person covers part of the cost of the staff and the infrastructure required to provide our booking service, as well as the payment card-processing fees that we incur on each transaction, both on the original payment as well as the refund.

Any other items on your booking, such as extras, accommodation and wristband will be refunded.

Where would refunds be sent to?

Most refunds will be sent to the card that you used to pay for your booking. Eg. If your group paid over 10 instalments with 5 different cards, the refund will come back to those 5 cards in 10 payments.

However, some transactions were made through Wirecard, a payment system that is no longer in use. In those cases, we will refund you those amounts via bank transfer to a designated person in the group - we recommend to use the lead passenger for this.

The total amount received across all passengers will add up to the total refund. Please bear in mind that you may need to transfer some amounts between yourselves. We cannot be held accountable for any funds not distributed correctly within your groups. If you have concerns about your funds being transferred to the lead passenger, please contact us on hello@kala.al before March 19th to discuss a different arrangement - this may delay the process for your group.

If you are unsure of the amounts paid towards your booking, you can check the transaction history on manage booking. Log in with your email and booking ID, head to 'info' and then scroll to the bottom to review the payment records.

Important information about the refund process:

When can I expect the money to arrive?

All the refunds will be processed by the end of April. You will receive a confirmation email once your refund has been processed to let you know it’s coming.

Please note that refunds may not reach your account in one lump sum. We need to refund every single transaction so this will depend on how many payments you made to us. Transactions will be processed in chronological order which means some payments may arrive several days before the others, so please be patient if there seem to be any amounts missing. Once all the payments have been refunded, we will send you an email to confirm this and let you know the money is on the way.

What should I do if I have not received my refund or if my refund received is incorrect?

If by the beginning of May you have not received your refund or the refund confirmation email, please contact us via email and we will assist in getting your funds back to you as quickly as possible.

If you believe the amount you have received is incorrect, contact us via email and we will send a breakdown of the refunds. Please note the amount may not arrive in one lump sum and that the payments may arrive several days apart. Once all the payments made towards your booking have been refunded, we will send you an email to confirm this and let you know the money is on the way.

What happens if I have changed cards or bank?

We are only able to process refunds to the card or bank account you paid with. If your card is no longer in use, you may need to contact the bank to arrange for this to be cleared.

Why is the booking fee non refundable?

The booking fee of £10 per person covers part of the cost of the staff and the infrastructure required to provide our booking service, as well as the payment card-processing fees that we incur on each transaction, both on the original payment as well as the refund.

I didn’t receive the email with the cancellation information.

The emails have been sent out to the addresses that were listed on your booking at the time. Please check your spam folder. Alternatively you can ask the lead passenger to login to manage booking to verify which email address has received the email. Note we are asking only one form submission per group, and that is the lead passenger who needs to do this.

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend?

Entry to the event will not be dependent on vaccination, but we are at the discretion of the various Governing bodies involved, and what their requirements are in regards to entry into the relevant country. At the moment, most countries are discussing different approaches to this and there are no clear guidelines in place. As stated in our T&Cs, we can only provide general information on the subject and would recommend you continue to monitor the ongoing updates provided before making a booking.

Will Kala still go ahead if we have to quarantine on arrival in Albania or on return to the UK?

We continue to monitor the ever-changing global situation and the conversations about travel corridors between countries. At the moment, different options are being considered but there are no clear guidelines in place.

It is still too early to know what the situation will be like in September. However, if travel restrictions such as quarantines are in place it is very likely that the event won’t go ahead. We will review this before the final balance date so everyone can make a decision before having to pay anything further than the deposit.

As always, our booking policy remains the same and in the event of a full cancellation or rescheduled date, ticket-holders will be entitled to either transfer their ticket to a rescheduled show, or receive a refund on their package.
