What are the new dates for Kala 2021?

Kala will take place between the 1st and 8th of September 2021.

Are there tickets available for September?

There are only a handful of tickets left for our next edition because most of the people who had tickets for the sold out 2020 event moved their bookings to 2021.

The remaining tickets will be released on March 25th.

Since the event is moving again from June to September, some more tickets may become available. These will be released on April 29th, once we process all the new cancellations.

• 22nd October: Tier 1 - SOLD OUT
• 25th March: September tickets on sale
• 29th April: Cancellation stock resale

If you would like to book one of the remaining tickets, please join the ticket waiting list via the button below

We will send the ticket link in the same order as people have signed up, which means that the earlier you sign up the better your chances to grab a ticket.

When do I have to pay the full amount by?

You can secure your spot with just a £50 deposit per person. The remaining balance will be due on July 2nd, meaning you won't have to pay anything more until then.

What happens if the September event cannot go ahead?

Our booking policy stays the same, meaning if the September event can’t go ahead we will offer you the same choices - either move your booking to the rescheduled date or receive a refund.

We understand there is still potential for circumstances to change further down the line that may prevent us from running the event this year. We will continue to monitor the developments and make assessments as best we possibly can, always following the guidance of all the relevant authorities.

We have chosen September as it is when we currently feel confident about running a safe trip. This decision has been taken after reviewing the vaccine rollout plan and the various steps of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, according to which, events and travel are set to return during the summer months, and all adults will be offered a first dose of the vaccine by 31 July.

The safety of our guests, crew, artists and the residents of Dhërmi is our number one priority. We will do our best to deliver a truly magical week in the Riviera but Kala won’t go ahead unless it’s safe to do so.

Will extra safety measures be put in place at the event?

We are exploring different options following the guidance of the health authorities. We will put any necessary safety measures in place to minimise the risks, as well as distribute additional guidance corresponding to the situation at the time of the event.

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend?

Entry to the event will not be dependant on vaccination, but we are at the discretion of the various Governing bodies involved, and what their requirements are in regards to entry into the relevant country. At the moment, most countries are discussing different approaches to this and there are no clear guidelines in place. As stated in our T&Cs, we can only provide general information on the subject and would recommend you continue to monitor the ongoing updates provided before making a booking.

Will Kala still go ahead if we have to quarantine on arrival in Albania or on return to the UK?

We continue to monitor the ever-changing global situation and the conversations about travel corridors between countries. At the moment, different options are being considered but there are no clear guidelines in place.

It is still too early to know what the situation will be like in September. However, if travel restrictions such as quarantines are in place it is very likely that the event won’t go ahead. We will review this before the final balance date so everyone can make a decision before having to pay anything further than the deposit.

As always, our booking policy remains the same and in the event of a full cancellation or rescheduled date, ticket-holders will be entitled to either transfer their ticket to a rescheduled show, or receive a refund on their package.

What’s the weather like in September?

The weather in September is very similar to June, with temperatures averaging 27 degrees so, even if a little later than usual, Kala will still be our highly awaited summer holiday.

Travel

Where is the festival located?

Kala takes place in Dhërmi, a coastal village on the Albanian Riviera located between the cities of Sarandë and Vlorë. It is the most beautiful spot on the entire coastline and a true hidden gem.

What is the best route to get to Kala?

We recommend coming in via Corfu, which offers lower flight prices and an easier, more picturesque journey to Dhërmi. We organise boat transfers from Corfu port to Himarë or Sarandë for passport control, then the final leg of the trip is by bus. The bus, which is included in the price, will drop you off at a location near your accommodation in Dhërmi.

Alternatively, you can fly to Tirana but you would have to arrange your own transportation to Kala. Taxis from Tirana cost around 70€-100€ per journey.

How do I get from the airport to Corfu Port?

The best option is to take a taxi from the airport to Corfu Port (Kerkira). It takes about 15 min.

Where can I find out transfer times?

You can check the transfer schedule on the first page of the ticket page. You can access this page on the button below

When will you take my flight information for the transfers?

We will let you know when we need these and details, as well as how they need to be inputted.

Do you have to stay for the full week?

You can come for the full week Wednesday-Wednesday, from Friday-Monday or anytime in between! We have three arrival days (Wednesday 1st, Thursday 2nd, Friday 3rd September) and three departure days (Monday 6th, Tuesday 7th, Wednesday 8th).

I need to leave on Saturday or Sunday but I see that I cannot book transfers over the weekend with you, how can I get back to Corfu airport?

You will need to make your own arrangements to get home if you need to leave over the weekend. You can check the public ferry timetable here.

Please note, you will need to go to Saranda and then on to Corfu. This will require arranging a taxi from Dhermi to Saranda costing approx. 70€-100€. Once in Saranda, you can take the ferry to Corfu port.

Can I explore Albania myself before or after the festival?

Absolutely, we strongly recommend going out and exploring the country either before or after the festival.

Please note that there is no car hire available in Dhermi, but you can get a taxi to or from Saranda to hire a car and explore further.

Tickets

Can I buy tickets without accommodation?

All Kala tickets are sold with accommodation. This is to avoid over inflated rates during the festival week and to ensure sustainable prices for Kala for this year and beyond.

We aim to provide the best festival experience and being able to manage the accommodation for our guests enables us to deliver a smoother festival. We charge hotels and apartments the same commission as Airbnb so this only makes your price better.

Can I buy a ticket from someone else?

We have been made aware of attempts at fake tickets being circulated and sold. Please remember that tickets for Kala are sold exclusively via our website.

DO NOT buy tickets directly from people posting on social media as there are many scammers targeting events this year.

We will not send out e-tickets until nearer the event so anyone claiming to have one is definitely fake. Tickets containing a QR code or a barcode are not legitimate.

If you are concerned or suspicious please email our customer service team here

We will release some more tickets for September on April 29th. If you would like to attends, please join the ticket waiting list

Can I buy tickets if I'm local?

Local tickets will be available via our booking site nearer to the event. You can join the waiting list here for local tickets and we will notify you when these go on sale.

Festival information

How many people are expected to attend Kala 2021?

There are only 3000 tickets available this year.

What is the easiest way to get to Kala from my accommodation during the festival?

Many hotels are within walking distance of Kala, there will also be a regular shuttle bus running to and from the festival for any guests staying in Drymades or Dhërmi town. Tickets for the shuttle bus can be purchased now.

What kind of amenities are available in Dhërmi?

Dhërmi is a small coastal village, there are medical services, bars, restaurants and several small shops. There is only one ATM in Dhermi and another in Drymades. You will need cash for restaurants and local shops but the festival area (bars, festival market) are contactless. You can top up your RFID wristband via card payment and use your wristband to pay within the festival site.

What are the food/drink costs like at Kala?

Restaurants are cheap and a meal will cost between £5 - 15. It's hard to say if places will increase prices during Kala as this happens at a lot of festivals in Croatia from experience but customers will still be able to get cheap meals for sure! Supermarkets are limited but do sell alcohol. Drink prices will vary from bar to bar ranging from 4-8 euros depending on the selected drink.

Besides the music, what else is available?

The festival program is designed to allow for days to party, relax and explore the incredible surroundings. Besides the music events, we also offer a roster of fun-filled activities and wellbeing content, from yoga and beach massages to kayaking, snorkelling, paragliding and day excursions to explore the natural wonders of the Albanian Riviera. Here are some of the places we recommend visiting:

Gjipe: a secluded beach forest that is only accessible by boat and hosts cherry-picked resident DJs on rotation. This is not only one of the most incredible party locations you will ever dance at, but the perfect place to spend the day too. You can relax by the beach, dance in the forest or stroll along the canyon.

Grama Bay: A stunning bay only accessible by boat. Due to the lack of facilities, this exotic beach is likely to be deserted on your arrival, and your very own for the day. We organise boat trips with optional BBQ.

Departing at 10:00am, this is a wonderful day, exploring the fascinating Porto Palermo Fort, followed by a boat trip to Jala Bay with time for lunch, swimming and exploring. A perfect opportunity to dive into the local culture and history, as well as the natural beauty of the Albanian Riviera!

Departing by Boat at 10.00am from Kala/Dhermi.
Reach Porto Palermo at 11.00, 1 hour stop.
Depart by Boat at 12.00, reach Jala at 12:30.
Lunch/Beach/Swim - 3.5 hours.
Leave by Boat at 16:00pm and arrive back in Dhermi at 16:30pm.

Not included within this entrance fee to Porto Palermo Castle (€1.50pp). We have recommendations on good lunch spots in Jala Bay, or you are free to explore on your own!
